Steward, Thomas Wilton

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in his 86th year at the Bruyere Hospice in Ottawa. He was the devoted husband of the late Joan (nee Bremner) Steward and beloved father of Wayne (Stephanie) and Bruce, proud grandfather of Jessica (Sarah) and Rebecca (Marc), and great grandfather of Owen and Nora. He was the son of the late Joseph and Annie (nee McKinney) Steward of Burlington Ontario. Dear brother of Newton (Anne), Nancy (Tom) and the late Jose Anne, along with many nieces and nephews. Also survived by the extended family of Norman, Bruce, Leon, Judy and Margaret, of New Brunswick and Maine USA, including nieces and nephews.

He spent many years in the military followed by his work as a Public Health Inspector for the City of Ottawa. He was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes 3440 Richmond Road, (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd) Nepean on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
