Bennett, Susan Dorothy
With family surrounding her in love and prayer Susan Bennett passed away peacefully at the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital in the early hours of March 20th. Taken from us far too soon after a sudden brain aneurysm and valiant fight to regain herself - Susan was cared for by the many nurses and doctors in the Neurology Department including Dr. Po and Dr. Millington. Susan was born in Ottawa, Ontario and lived her entire life as a caring and wonderful person who grew up and raised her family and enjoyed a successful career first as an administrative assistant and then as a small business owner. Those who knew her often called her an angel and one of the kindest people they have ever known. Susan is survived by Thom, her husband of 47 years, her daughter Shannon Bennett-Parisotto and husband Bryce, son Shane Bennett and wife Charlotte, Grandson William and Grand-Daughters Chelsea and Mackenzie, sister to Brian (Suzanne) Twinn, Jeff (Sylvia) Twinn, and predeceased sister Deana Martin. Susan first met Thom in grade nine and as fate would have it, they met again years later in 1972 and their legendary love story began. As a wife she was Thom’s support, confidant, and best friend. To Shannon and Shane she was a kind, supportive, and thoughtful mother. To William, Chelsea, and Mackenzie, Nanny was a constantly loving and devoted grandmother. There is a hole in our hearts now - Nan you will be forever missed and never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, Susan has requested donations to the Humane Society and the family would also appreciate donations to the Neurology Department at the Ottawa Hospital. A service is being planned for the future and will be announced at a later date.
