After a full and satisfying life, Ron left his loving family on Saturday 11 September 2021 at the age of 92.  Predeceased by his loving wife Fiona, constant partner and soul mate of more than 66 years and much loved daughter Pauline and twin grandchildren, Sabrina and Colby.  He leaves behind members of his extended family that he loved so well and of whom he was justly proud:  David (of Seattle), Karen, Fiona (Dan Champagne),  Malcolm  (Wanda) and grandchild Jessica, Murray and spouse, grandchildren Matthew (Alex Lewis), Chelsea (Scott Laplante), and his great grandchildren Nash, Colt, and Adhara Jemma.

In 1965 he was elected as a Councillor of March Township (later Kanata) and as Deputy Reeve and County Councillor until 1973. In this capacity, Ron was instrumental in making possible the growth in Industry within Kanata and in the acquisition of the Pinhey property for public use.
