Hauver – Robert Hunter

June 9, 1936 – December 31, 2021

I am bereft.  It is with great sadness that I say good-bye to my husband, Bob.  He struggled bravely in his final years with Parkinson’s Disease and accepted his fate and never complained.  Bob’s spirit never plummeted.  For him every day was a gift, and the glass was half full.  Bob’s humble ways, kindness and dry sense of humour will be missed.

Bob is survived by his wife Rena.  Bob was also the brother and brother-in-law of the late Kent and Maureen Hauver.  He was also the best son-in-law Joseph Klein could have wished for.  He was a loyal employee of Bell Canada for 37 years in Capital Management.  He retired in order to give a younger person with a mortgage and a new family a chance at life.  He was an appreciative person and always gave thanks for his good fortune.

While he would not want flowers, or anyone to go out of their way on his behalf, donations to the Parkinson’s Disease Society are appreciated.  Donations to Dr. Grimes Neuroscience Programme, 1053 Carling Ave., Ottawa, K1Y 4E9.

A private cremation has taken place.  At Bob’s request, there will be no other ceremony.  Always a compassionate man, Bob made a special and valuable donation of his brain to Parkinsons Disease Research.

Bob and I were seldom apart and had a transcendent love story reserved for Hollywood.  He was with me every moment of my life and now I must re-learn how to live.

“One must feel gratitude for what has been rather than distress for what is lost”
