Patricia Thorslund

April 13, 1933 — April 6, 2022

Thorslund, Patricia Lillian

1933-2022

Peacefully in her sleep, Patricia passed away a few days shy of her 89th birthday on April 6, 2022. She is fondly remembered and survived by her husband David Thorslund, sons Keith (Lynda), Derek (Janet) and Craig, grandchildren Aisha, Brenna, Jeffrey, Kiah, Luke, Neil and Zachary, sister Valerie Westwater, brother Greg Arnold (deceased) and many other loving family by marriage.

Born in Toronto, Patricia (nee Arnold) trained as a nurse at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal where she married David. They settled outside Montreal where she raised her three boys and worked as a school nurse. The family moved to Ottawa in the late seventies where she continued to work as a nurse at Central Park Lodge.

Patricia was an active gardener, talented painter and social entertainer. She enjoyed many trips to far away places and was always an involved grandmother to her seven grandchildren.

She was happiest with her feet up and a hot cup of coffee in hand discussing everything that was everything.

Patricia and David lived at the Redwoods Retirement Home for the last five years and more recently Patricia was at St. Patrick’s Home. A special thank you to all the staff that cared for and enhanced her life with kindness in the last few years to allow her to live with dignity and as independently as possible.

From all of us, you were loved dearly, we will miss you.

In keeping with her wishes, Patricia will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at Pinecrest Cemetery. A private family ceremony will be held.
