Monica Ann Mikula (nee Pashak)
Passed away at home in Kanata on Sunday, October 11, at the age of 95 with her family at her side. Born in 1925 in Port Credit to Tom and Teresa Pashak. Loving mother of Ann, Chris (Nada), Gary (Annette) and Tom. Loving Grandma to Gregory (Alaya), Michael and Brian Mikula. Dear friend of Jackie Sidwell and her family. Predeceased by her loving husband Charlie (married May 10, 1952), her sisters Mary Sadler and Eileen, Joan and Helen Pashak, her infant daughter Joanne, and her brother in law and sister in law Bill and Alma Mikula. Sister in law of Nancy and Barry Nicol. A very caring Aunt Monica to her and Charlie’s nephews and nieces. Always a kind, generous person with a big heart.
Monica had fond memories of living on a farm and teaching in a one-room schoolhouse until she met her husband Charlie. She then became an armed forces wife and lived in many Canadian cities and Germany before she and Charlie settled in Ottawa in 1972.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. A celebration of Monica’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at ww.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
