Ralph, Lois Kathryn (nee Adams)

May 22, 1927-May 23, 2021

Lois passed away peacefully in her sleep at Granite Ridge LTC in Stittsville on May 23, one day after her 94th birthday.  Lois was born in Oxford Mills, the youngest of 5 children. She was the beloved wife of Garnet Ralph for 66 years.  He predeceased her by 5 years.  They married in 1949 and lived on their farm at Twin Elm (Richmond) until 1988, when they built their dream home on land adjoining the farm.  She was dearest Mom to Deborah Watson (Mark), Nancy Ralph (Closten Ball), & Cheryl Ralph; Grandma to Jennifer, Sarah and Katie and Great Grandma to Rachael & Julia Heppner, Logan & Benjamin Fell. Lois is remembered with love by her nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Helen Dunbar and Dorothy Ralph, and by close friends Bob & Joan Aumell.

Lois had a life-long love of music and she was happiest surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She loved to cook and to entertain. No one at her table ever went hungry! Her homemade doughnuts and pies evoke especially good memories!  In recent years, she never tired of looking at family photos and always brightened at the sight of a visitor coming to see her.  This past year of Covid isolation was particularly difficult on her with no in-person visitors, restricted to Face Time calls.  Fortunately, Cheryl qualified as an essential caregiver and was able to care for her during her last months.

We are grateful for the caring staff at Granite Ridge LTC on “Orchard Community” and to her private caregiver Brenda Faulkner.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will take place at Tubman’s Funeral Home in Bells Corners on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial in Christ Church Cemetery in Burritt’s Rapids.

For those wishing, a live stream option for the funeral service will be available at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com/obituary/Lois-Ralph.  In lieu of flowers, for those wishing a memorial donation to St. John’s Anglican Church, Richmond or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
