Howard (Howie) Gale Morenz

Howard (Howie) Gale Morenz born June 6, 1960, sadly and unexpectedly passed away on May 1, 2023. Howie was born in Montreal to parents Howard (Howie) Raymond Morenz and Beryl Irene Morenz (nee Haigh)

Howie attended Concordia University before moving to Toronto, working in the financial district.  He moved to Ottawa after his father passed away in 2015 and wanted to be closer to his beloved mother before she passed away in 2020.

Howie was an intelligent, quiet, incredibly kind-hearted man and had the most humility for his family’s hockey legacy. Howie was both extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. Especially for les Canadiens.

Howie will be deeply missed by his son, Tyler (Lindsey), Maureen and his good friends Colin Goodwin, Dave Lubell, Chris Pinsent, Bob Gonsalves, Gerry Bruere and many more.
