Crawford – Harold Eldon

1941 - 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Harold on Thursday, December 2, 2021 in his 81st year, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Marie (Watkins) for 58 years. Dearly loved father of John (Julie Featherstone) and Ronald. Much loved grandpa to Melissa Bird (Mitchell), Laura, J.J. Alexa Hewson and great grandpa to Liam, Emmett, and twins Audrey and Olive. Loving brother to Jean Langman (Paul), Joan Reid (John Cole) and brother-in-law to Raymond Porter (Josie). He will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John (1976) and Pearl (1999) Crawford; sisters Helen Porter (1983) and Heather Cottingham (2003).

As well as showing his golden guernseys at local fairs and at Toronto, Harold in his younger years won the 4-H Jr. Farmers judging competition for Carleton County at the Royal Winter Fair, Toronto 1958. He graduated from Kemptville Agricultural College (KAS) in 1959 where he met Marie. Harold farmed all his life near Richmond on the Crawford homestead, Golden Dell Farms. There were never enough hours in a day. He bought and sold equipment (John Deere being his favourite), all over Northeastern North America where he made many friends and colleagues. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, RVing, loved his family and work. Special thanks to the Queensway Carleton Hospital ACE department as well as the doctors and nurses who cared for Harold.
