Van Essen – Eduwarda “Eddy”

1925 - 2021

Peacefully with family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in her 96th year.  Beloved wife of 58 years of the late John Van Essen. Dear mother of John, Roy (Gail Bonus), and Annette (Carlo Taverna). Loving grandmother of Kyle, Talina, John and Nicholas. Predeceased by her brother and three sisters in the Netherlands.

Eddy and John came to Canada in 1958 from Holland to start a new adventure. They loved their life in Canada. In 1966 they moved to Manotick where they raised their three children, eventually moving to Kars in 1988. They had a full life which included active involvement in their church, “cottage life”, fishing, grandchildren, travelling extensively and spending many winters in Florida. Eddy also loved to paint, knit and garden.

Special thanks to the Timberwalk and Waterford Grand retirement residences for the care that she received in recent months.

Friends may attend a visitation at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr.,Kars on  Dec 3, 2021, 12- 2 pm. Funeral service private. Interment Rideauvale Cemetery.
