Yvon Chartrand

Our hearts are forever broken , with the sudden passing of Yvon Chartrand on Sunday June 9, 2024, at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, at the age of 70. 

Beloved son of the late Omer and Noella (nee Belisle) Chartrand. Brother of Roger (Denis), the late Robert and Richard, as well a special uncle to Lindsey and great-uncle to Lexus and Leah.  

In 1999, Yvon relocated from Rideau Regional Centre to OCAPDD, Beaudre House, where Yvon took his roots with the wonderful staff members (Vicki, Trish, Tanya, Tracy). In 2007, upon closure of Beaudre House, Yvon moved to living permanently for the last 17 years, at Charette House in Bells Corners, where he found his happy place. The staff and team of OCAPDD (Kaitlyn, Jen, Tina, Harsh, Sarah, Arron, Erica, Jessica, Shanna, Meagan, Breann, Tony and Joanne) were the close knit family that cared for and supported Yvon with his daily activities.  

Yvon, loved his many outings such as hockey and baseball games, drives to Tim Hortons and his last fishing trip on a pontoon boat, where he had an amazing wet and memorable day. On Tuesday , Thursday and Saturday, he would attend his day program at the Annex, where he will be remembered for his many works of art and being a social butterfly.  

Visitation will begin @ 12:30 pm and a Celebration of his Life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean, ON (at Bayshore Drive) on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception.
