William MURPHY (Bill)

1938-2023

With great sadness we announce that Bill passed away peacefully on the morning of January 22, 2023, at the age of 84.  Loving husband of Mary (Norton) of 59 years.  Proud Dad to Cathy (Mark), Kevin (Karla), and Kimberley. Cherished Grandpa of Michael, Kyle, and Ryan.  Pre-deceased by his parents, Everett and Noreen (Scissons), and brother Jack.  Brother-in-law of Ray (Myrna), Eleanor (Bob), and Marion (the late Rodney). Fondly remembered by his many nephews, niece, cousins, friends, and neighbours.

Bill worked for the Federal Government for 35 years (Treasury Board and Public Works). After retirement, he enjoyed golfing, curling, farming, family Christmas gatherings, traveling, going to the hunt camp, fishing at Kensington, sports, the SENS and the CFL.

Special thanks to Dr. Connell, and Nurses Ruth and Ellise for their kindness and care.

Visitation will take place Saturday, January 28th at 10am at St. Isidore’s Catholic Church (1135 March Road, Kanata) followed by the funeral mass at 11am (reception to follow in the church hall).  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill’s name may be made to St. Isidore Church Mortgage Fund or a charity of your choice.
