Wendy Marshall

April 26, 1949 — November 22, 2024

After a long and courageous battle with cancer Wendy completed her journey to Heaven on November 22, 2024. A kind and gentle woman who easily made many friends. Her Dalhousie Lake cottage was her happy place, a refuge from urban life and cancer treatments. A place of peace and quiet, glasses of wine with ice of course and many laughs with great friends and relatives. Wintering in Florida and travelling with the “Buffalo Gals” was a true joy and lasted many years! Good times with her high school friends and special ones met along her life’s path brought her much happiness and contentment.

“Together is a wonderful place to be”

Born to Arthur and Dorothy Witt (nee Scheuneman) on April 26, 1949 in the city of Pembroke Ont. She graduated with a Bachelor of General Arts from Waterloo Lutheran University and obtained a Teaching Certificate from the North Bay Teachers College. While living in Sundridge and Ottawa On., she had various careers in teaching, school administration, senior relocation services and retail sales. Retirement in Almonte, ON, brought many more friendships and a return to a quieter life.

She is predeceased by her parents, infant brothers William and Murray, and her husband Doug.

Beloved mother of Jennifer (Kevin) Stanley and proud grandmother of Addison and Kailyn. Fondly remembered by her sister Bonnie (Peter) McCluskey and her beloved nephews Ian and Chris (Nancy and children - Monrow, Ferrah, and Foxland) and her special friend Doug Shannon.

A huge thank you to her Oncologist Dr. Derek Jonker and the cancer nurses at the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Team at the Ottawa General Hospital, for their expert care and compassion.
