It is with deep sadness that the Volkmer Family announces the passing of Victor Volkmer on the evening of October 29, 2022. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing. Predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Gertrude (Gross), his brother Gerhard, sister Elisabeth Gross and brother Paul. Loving husband of Ingeborg Volkmer (Abrecht). Sister of Barbara (Ahrendt), Father of Frank (Stephanie Macaulay), Stephen (Lyn MacVicar), David (Deborah Kehoe). Opa to Ryan, Amanda Angell (Daniel Angell), William, and Nicholas (Rachel Gaudio)). Uropa of Mya Angell. Victor arrived in Canada in 1955 and was one of the founding members of the G.T.E.V. Maple Leaf – Almrausch Schuhplattlers. He retired from Sears after 28 years of service. After retirement, Victor did what he loved the most – home renovation as “Victor Volkmer Carpentry”. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday November 10, 2022 at St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde (German Catholic) Church at 416 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa at 10:30am. Light lunch to follow the mass in the lower hall. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of the Geriatric and Palliative care units of the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. Please no flowers.
