Sylvie Dupras

Sylvie Dupras passed away at home with her daughter by her side on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She was born in Montreal to the late Madeleine Gendron and Pierre-Paul Dupras. Sylvie loved to travel, having visited over 30 countries. She was a shamanic practitioner, and her journeys and teachings brought her friends from all over the world. She was a vivacious woman who was adored and will be missed by many.

Sylvie was a loving mother to daughter Gabrielle Whittaker, and mother-in-law to Jonathan Buchanan.

Sylvie is survived by her sister Ninon Dupras Lawrence (Dennis), and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephew.

We want to thank the nurses and doctors, especially Victoria, who took care of Sylvie for the last few years while she battled cancer.

Respecting Sylvie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, December 4th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Ale Amberwood Lounge & Eatery, 54 Springbrook Drive, Stittsville, ON.  Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to write down their favourite memory of Sylvie and bring it with them to contribute to a memory book. To honour Sylvie we encourage you to wear blues and greens, her favourite colours. A burial of the ashes will take place in Montreal in the Spring of 2023.
