Stuart Errol Dick

It is with great sadness, admiration and above all, love that we say goodbye to Stuart Errol Dick.

Stuart was the son of Herbert and Violet Dick, and brother to Barbara Delay. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and uncle who cherished his family and the special place they held in his life.

He was the beloved husband of RoseMarie (Carey) Dick, his partner and companion through many chapters of their life together. He was the devoted father to Margaret (Daniel) Lynch, and Graeme (Grace Palarchio) Dick, and an honorary father figure to Pat.

His greatest joys were found in his family. He was the adored grandfather of Brennah, Madeline (Zach) and Carson and his love and pride for them will remain a part of their lives forever.

But to know Stuart was to know that there was always more to the story.

He had a sharp wit, a wonderful sense of humour and could never resist a good limerick, or perhaps a mischievous one. Music was woven into the fabric of his life. Whether he was playing the squeezebox , the harmonica, the fiddle or the bagpipes, Stuart had a way of bringing music into any room and the people together around it.

And then there was the dancing. Stuart loved to dance and he did it with a spirit that was entirely his. He didn’t simply hear the music, he felt it. Those who had the pleasure of watching him dance will always carry those memories, along with the smiles and laughter that always followed.

Stuart lived with character, humor, music, laughter and heart. He left behind not only memories but stories. The kind that will be told again and will grow a little better along the way,

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the kindness of neighbours and the compassionate people who cared for Stuart and supported our family along the way. We will forever be grateful to the staff at Ontario Health at Home, Timberwalk Retirement Residence and the Fairview Manor of Almonte for their kindness, dignity and care.

Perhaps the best way to remember Stuart is in his own words. “Enjoy the music, dance to what moves you and eat the pie!”

So Stuart, we will.

We will listen to the music,

We will tell the stories

We will share the laughs

We will remember the dancing and

We will carry your love with us.

Rest well kind Sir.

You were deeply loved, will be deeply missed and will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Stuarts life will take place on Sunday October 25th, 2026 from 2-4 pm.

Tubman Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa.
