Stephen Foster Purdy

Steve passed away suddenly but peacefully on November 29th, 2024, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 74. 

He is survived by his loving family: wife Mary, sisters-in-law Barbara Purdy and Anna Kennedy, niece Gillian (Randy), nephews Ryan (Dinah) Purdy, Geoffrey, and Adam Kennedy, great-niece Cecilia, and great-nephews Zachary, Gavin, and Eli. Steve will be sadly missed by Sheila Purdy and Nancy Brookes with whom he was especially close. Predeceased by his parents Gerry and Joe, and brother Dwight. 

A graduate of Carleton and York universities, Steve was interested in local and New York City History. He was also an avid fan of the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Blue Jays. 

As per Steve’s wishes, cremation and a private family graveside service have taken place. 

In memory of Steve, who so cherished his three predeceased cats, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
