Diane Stoker

Diane Stoker (nee MacQueen) passed away peacefully on Friday September 19th, 2025 in Ottawa at the age of 73. 

Diane will be greatly missed by her husband of 51 years, Keith Stoker. Loving mother to Aaron (Emily), Adam (Nicole), and April (Steve) who passed away in 2023. Amazing Nana to Ayden, Addison, Max, Nolan, Wesley, and Oliver who passed away in 2023. She leaves behind siblings Nancy, Linda, Charles, Duncan and Donna. In addition to April and Oliver, Diane was predeceased by her parents Malcom and Margaret. She will be missed by all her extended family. 

Loving and generous with a kind soul, Diane always put her family and others first. She would tirelessly spend time with her grandchildren and touched the lives of anyone lucky enough to spend time with her. 

Born and raised in Dominion, Diane grew up in Cape Breton, NS. While she would later leave the island with Keith to raise a family, living in several provinces and the US for a time, she always returned home. She spent her last summer on the Mira River surrounded by family and friends. 

It would be an understatement to say Diane was a good cook and exceptional baker. She also excelled in art and music. Diane would wake her children up playing the piano and later spent many hours learning the fiddle. Her children would also be taught her love of the Beatles, especially over the many long drives back home to Cape Breton from Ontario.

 The family would like to thank the staff at Ottawa General for their care and dedication.
