Shirley Reid

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Reid announce her sudden passing on March 17th, 2026.

Shirley Ann Isabel Reid (nee Storr) was born in Ottawa, Ontario, on April 11, 1942. She now joins her beloved husband Jim and cherished grandson Jamie.

She is survived by her children Jennifer (Doug Rayner), Marnie (Michael Cross), Andrew (Natalie) and Lori; grandchildren Bill, Dean, Cameron, Patrick, Annabel, Chloe and Dylan; great-grandson Sullivan.

Shirley was a proud and dedicated career educator and administrator at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board.

The center of her heart was her family. The center of her world was the cottage in Norway Bay where she loved time with her brothers, their families, and other precious extended family and friends. She was often seen driving her boat (too fast) for a fishing trip or a tube ride which always included treats.

Her family will honour her with a private gathering this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norway Bay Municipal Association.

The family would like to thank the Acute Care Team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their care and compassion.
