Rose Elizabeth Campbell (née Murphy)

Peacefully, with family by her side, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, on Monday, September 21, 2026. Loving wife of Michael for 52 years, who passed away in 2017. Devoted mother of Linda, Lisa (Matthew Godfrey), and Janet (Scott Doidge). Cherished grandmother (Grammy Rose) of Linden, Jemma, Chloë, and Tavia.

Daughter of the late Michael and Arbena (Foley) Murphy. Beloved sister of the late Frank Murphy (Doreen), the late Mary Cooney (late Don), the late Leona Watters (late Lorne), the late Theresa Read (late Allan), the late Bridget Perreault (late Roger), Carmel Read (Ed), the late Joan Fraser (late Ian), Helen Kennedy (Bryan), the late Audrey Killeen (late Carl), and the late Jim Murphy. Equally beloved sister-in-law to Claire Forbes (late Don), the late Jim Campbell (late Marcie), and the late Father Bernard Campbell. Rose will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

After high school, Rose worked at Northern Electric before starting her family. When she returned to the workplace, she enjoyed a career as a car salesperson and leasing manager, one of the first females in her field. Rose was fun loving, as a mother and grandmother, sister and friend. She made everything look easy. She was an excellent cook, generous hostess, fierce euchre and dominoes player, and an avid gardener, stained glass artist, seamstress, and quilter. “Rosie” loved being with family and friends. All who knew her felt loved and seen by her and she supported many through difficult times. She was a bright light with a positive attitude that was never more evident than in her battle with dementia. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Thanks to everyone at Timberwalk Retirement Community where Rose resided happily for 6 years, and to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their support in her last days.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Parish, 1135 March Road, Kanata, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00am. Reception to follow.
