Ronald Barkley

Ron passed peacefully in his 84th year, with family at his side. He was born in the middle of the Second World War to Navy man Orville Barkley, and “Miss Westboro” Eileen Hayes Barkley. He had fond memories of living on the East Coast and waiting for his Dad to return to port, and loved to share stories of his early years in Westboro Village. In the early 70s, he met Pat and the two would spend the remainder of her life together, Pat passed in 2017, and he missed her every day afterward. Ron was a doting grandfather and admitted that his grandchildren were his favourite people. Ron also enjoyed spending time with his many, many cousins. A dog lover, he always had time for a snuggle or a treat for whatever dog was around at the time, and there were many over the years. We will miss him every day, but we are relieved he is out of pain and finally getting a good sleep. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
