Rodney Mccorkell

Rod passed peacefully in the hospital at the age of 81 with his cherished wife Judy by his side.

Loving husband of Judy (nee Stephenson) for 56 years.  Much adored father of Kathy (Jalal Adeli), Andy (Michelle Hodgson), and Susan (John Smith).  Proud Grandfather of Samantha (Alex Murray), Kevin, Avery, Meredith, Emma, and Sarah.  Brother to Manley and Stewart (late) and best of friends with David Dousett.

Born in Alcove Quebec to the late Walter and Inez McCorkell (nee Draper).  Moved to Stittsville in 1968 where he worked with Walter to build his family a home.  Rod worked at BNR (Nortel) as a Technologist throughout his career.

Rod was a kind and gentle soul.  He always loved the outdoors especially fishing, golfing, and skiing.  He was a ‘handy man’ by all accounts, and he loved working on his yard, his house and the cottage.  He was very generous, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to others.

Rod’s immediate family will be celebrating his life on Sunday November 13th at 10 a.m. For those wishing to watch the service, a live stream will be available by scrolling below.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Rod’s memory to Parkinson’s research at the Ottawa Hospital can be made with a cheque payable to “Ottawa Hospital Foundation-PIPR” and mailed to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, 737 Parkdale Av Ottawa K1Y 1J8.
