It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Rob) Toshio Hayami of Ottawa in his 49th year on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honour his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Rob was born on December 15, 1972 in Montreal. He leaves behind his beloved wife Kristine McGillivray and his cherished son Owen, and loving parents Hiroshi and Jane Hayami. Rob was a brother and best friend to Geoff (Jodi), and Steven (Jamie), devoted son-in-law to Peggy and Don (deceased) McGillivray, and brother-in-law to Jennifer (Larry), Scott (Joanna), Daniel. He was a fun and caring uncle to Alex, Matthew, Sara, Mia, Connor, Blake, Kierra, Whitley, Hailee.

A cremation and service will be held for immediate family members at Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Tuesday May 31, 2022. Visitation will follow at the same location from 2 - 4 pm and 6  -8 pm.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held for family and friends on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Tudor Hall, 3750 N Bowesville Road, Ottawa at 4pm.

Many thanks to all the heroic people that helped Rob and Owen, and our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Patel and the wonderful and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

His catching smile and contagious laugh will be dearly missed
