Richard Snaauw

At the Élizabeth Bruyère Hospital on October 23rd, 2022 at the age of 55 years of brain cancer. Dear brother of Michael (Gail) and Nicole (François), and uncle to Remi and Max. Son of John (deceased) and Rose (deceased).  Dear friend of Johanne and Mathis.

Richard served as a custodian at Carleton University for many years. His close friends remember both his humour and his attention to detail, both at work and at home.  Richard spent many years researching and building precision WW II models.  He was also adept at building and fixing computers.

Richard faced his sudden terminal diagnosis with courage and determination, while striving to minimize the impact of his illness on those close to him. Although his life was tragically cut short, his loved ones will always remember his quiet strength and humour.

VISITATION HAS BEEN POSTPONED and now will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, Ontario, (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on December 4th, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
