After battling courageously with illness, Rick died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Gloria; his children Laura (Mike Egan), Adam (Tracy Abbott) and their mother Carol; his grandchildren Conor and Sarah Egan; his brother John and sister Suzanne (Jim Armstrong). He was predeceased by his parents Lorne and Jean Elizabeth (Allingham). A memorial mass will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Manotick on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
