Raymond Michael (Bruce) MacLean

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond MacLean at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Beloved husband for 52 years to Heather (Patterson) and proud loving father of Geoffrey (Sandra).

Predeceased by his parents Malcolm and Joyce MacLean and his dear brother, Steve.

Brother-in-law of Diane MacLean (Carl Musker), Garry Patterson (Anne) and Wayne Patterson (Janie).

Cherished uncle of Kimberley Beaupre (Mike), Jennifer Reid (Todd). Gregg Patterson (Jaimie) and the late Glenn Patterson. Great Uncle to Jordyn, Ryan, Hudson, Mikael, Samuel and Luke. Loving cousin to Ellen DesRues (Kevin), and their children, Oliver and Emma.

Raymond was born in Maerdy, South Wales and grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan. He will be remembered for his love of sports and of rock and roll music. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, resilience, determination and never-ending hope in the face of his health challenges. He lived life with humour, kindness and faith.

A special thanks to the physicians, nurses, caregivers and staff at the Ottawa Hospital, the Ottawa Heart Institute, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Extendicare Crossing Bridge for their wonderful care and compassion.

In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, a private family graveside ceremony will take place at a later date.
