Patricia Monk Lavoie
Our beloved Patricia—Pat, Tish, Mom, Nanny—left us at age 78, after a life well-lived, filled with laughter, friendship, and love.
Born and raised in Montreal, and in Ottawa the last 20 years, Pat proudly embraced her Irish heritage, lighting up every room with her warmth and endless charm. Pat leaves behind her devoted husband of over 30 years, Gaetan, her children David Howe (Allison), Theresa Howe (Kevin), and Colleen Howe, and her adored grandchildren Meghan, Melissa, Kiely, Ryan, and Quinn. She also leaves her cherished twin brother Michael (Sharron), along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly. Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Margaret (Millie), her brothers Brian and Robert, we imagine they're now happily welcoming her with open arms.
A natural caregiver, Pat never met a stranger—indeed, even in her final days in the ICU, she was busy making new friends. Her careers in teaching and the "schmatta" business reflected her vibrant personality and reflected her extraordinary talent for keeping everyone on track. We will miss her laughter, her kindness, and her incredible ability to make everyone around her feel special.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held Thursday, May 29th, at Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Rd (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) Nepean. Visitation begins at 10am, followed by a Service at 11am, and a Reception at noon. Until then, raise a glass and share a story—she'd love that.
Sláinte, Mom!
