Nancy Pelletier

It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Pelletier (nee Harper), at the age of 77.  Her passing came after a long courageous health battle, surrounded by the love and support of her family. 

She is lovingly remembered by her spouse Donald Pelletier. She will be deeply missed by her children Lee (Sam) and Rob (Christine), as well as her cherished granddaughter Chloe- who she always said was in her heart and soul. 

Predeceased by her parents, Ross and Marjorie Harper, she is survived by her loving sisters Liz (Dave) and Jill (John). She will be missed by her cousins Joanne (Barry), Sandy, and many other family and friends. 

Nancy, or Mrs. Pelletier to her students, was a lifelong teacher, positively impacting the lives of all the students she had the privilege of working with.   She spent the majority of her teaching career at both Hilson Ave. and Connaught schools.  She adored her job, her students and her colleagues.   

She was the “hub” of our family, filling up every room she was in with light and laughter. Her sense of humor intact until the very end. Her life’s joy was being a mother and her greatest joy was being “Nana” to Chloe.  We all know how proud she was of us, and how deeply she loved us.  That is our greatest gift from her.   Her wish to stay at home despite health challenges was only possible due the loving and care for Mom by her caring and selfless husband Don.  

We wish to thank the staff at the Civic hospital A1, A5, and B5, for all their efforts and care.  We also wish to thank the staff at St. Vincent’s Palliative care unit, who provided compassionate care for Nancy and our family, during her last week.   

Our family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not in the sadness of her passing.
