Jones – Miriam Thomas

Peacefully at Saint Vincent’s Hospital on Friday, March 4, 2022 in her 88th year.

Beloved wife of the late Alun Jones.  Dear Mother of Geraint (Leslie) and Delyth (Adrian). Loving grandmother of Mackenzie, Catrin, Sydney, Griffin and Eve. Sister of Ken, Gwenda, Norman (deceased), John (deceased).

Miriam was born on a farm in Fishguard,,West Wales, on the 1st of November 1934. In her early 20’s she moved to Cardiff to start her career with the Natwest Bank. This is where she met Alun, her future husband.

Miriam had a long and successful career in banking while also raising her two children, Geraint and Delyth.  She moved to Canada once she retired and lovingly helped raise her grandchildren in both Canada and Wales.  She said that doing that brought her the greatest joy in her life. She was also called Nana by many.

Miriam was welcomed to Canada and has many friends from Manotick and from Knox Presbyterian Church and the choir.

Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 5533 Dickinson St, Manotick on Friday, March 11th at 2 pm.  Those wishing to make memorial donations  can do so to Saint Vincent- Bruyère Hospital by clicking on Donations at the top of this page.
