Michel (Mike) Patrick Nicholson

March 17, 1953—July 2, 2024

Mike spent his last two days doing what he loved to do—Canada Day festivities at Kemptville visiting with friends, listening to music, and playing euchre at the Osgoode Legion.

Sadly his heart couldn’t support the pain he was in and he passed away at home in the arms of his beloved, Syd (Cindy) Vandusen, his life partner of many years. Mike left us just like he lived his life—on his own terms.

He leaves behind his best friend and brother Dan Nicholson (Randi), his sister Rachelle Nicholson and dear niece Chelsea Gravelle.

He will also be greatly missed by his dear friend Benita and the sons of his heart, Tristan and Kaelan.

Hockey, Baseball, Darts, Euchre, flea markets and music were his favourite interests and he made friends wherever he went.

He was the best ever fur daddy to Copper.

Mike’s wishes were to be cremated and there will no service. However, because of his love of the Legion, the people, and the music, a benefit/celebration of life will be held at the Osgoode Legion (3284 Sunstrum) on Saturday, July 13th from 8:00 pm until close with a $10 cover charge—all of which will be donated to help Syd cover expenses. We will be serving free hot dogs as they were his favourite food. Please join us there, if you’re able.

As the song goes “We’re here for a good time, not a long time”. Mike, I loved every moment of time I spent with you. Love you forever, Syd xo
