Michael "Mike" O'Shaughnessy

Michael (Mike/Mickey) O’Shaughnessy -  

Peacefully on October 15, 2023, at 84 years of age.  Predeceased by his 11 siblings and his daughter Tracy.  He is survived by son Jeff, daughter Erin (Peter), his five grandchildren; Matthew, Megan, Adam, Julian & Eden and many nieces and nephews. 

Mike worked for Supply & Services Canada for 35 years and spent many of his retirement days working the front counter at the former Moe’s Famous Newport Restaurant. Also a proud 45+ year member of AA. 

Mike lived life to the beat of his own drum.   He would show you he cared and had no problem telling you when he didn’t. Quick witted or cantankerous, funny or foul mouthed - you were never quite sure who would show up or for how long.  We did our best to love him all the same.

Our thanks to the Extendicare Medex staff for their kindness and care in the last 11 months of his life. Cremation has taken place and he will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Quyon, Quebec alongside his parents & siblings.

To those who shared love and friendship with him, we thank you and encourage you to take a moment in your own way to celebrate the good you knew in him.  To quote his own final words always shared with us on the good days: “Goodnight & God-bless” to you Dad. Rest in peace.
