SCHWALM, MAURINE (nee Duncan)

At her home in Ottawa on November 27, 2023, at the age of 98. Daughter of the late Robert and Ina Duncan, sister of the late Merrill and Milton Duncan. Widow of the late Karl-Heinz Schwalm. Beloved mother of the late Karen Wollenschlager (Brian), Wayne and Melvin, grandmother of Karl (Lesley) Wollenschlager, great-grandmother of Kole. Sister of Gail Thompson (late Doug) and aunt of Derek. Born and raised in Ottawa, Maurine had a nearly twenty-year career at The Bay before retiring in 1990. In retirement Maurine enjoyed traveling, the theatre and volunteering at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Ottawa Jazz Festival. Visitation will take place at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road on Sunday, December 3, 2023, between 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Cremation to follow. A Memorial Service will take place at Faith Lutheran Church 43 Meadowlands Dr. West on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favourite charity will be greatly appreciated.
