Matthew Roger Shabatowski

It is with profound sadness to announce that Matthew Roger passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday October 17^th, 2023, at the young age of 31. Matthew was born in Ottawa on June 5, 1992.

Cherished son of Brenda M. Shabatowski (nee Geikie) and of the late Joseph Roger Shabatowski.  Loving brother of James M. Shabatowski (wife Rebecca Greenan; daughters Lyra and Sophia) and Chris A. Shabatowski (wife Bailey Wright; daughter Arlyn).    Lovingly remembered by his grandmother Patricia M. Geikie (Bruce Switzer), grandfather, Michael Shabatowski (Ursula Marie Hollett)

Predeceased by his uncle Paul Shabatowski. 

Matthew touched the lives of many others, and he will be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends, colleagues, employers, former classmates and his motorcycle buddies.  

Matthew enjoyed many hobbies that allowed him to express his creativity.  He especially enjoyed grilling on his Kamado Joe & Joe JR smokers, brewing his own espresso, wine and beer making, photography & video making, and more recently, riding his new Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Reception at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday, November 3^rd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
