Mary Lyngard

We sadly announce the passing of Mary Lyngard (nee Higson) on October 26, 2023, at the age of 97 years.

Mary was born in Hamilton on October 21, 1926, to Harry Higson and Mary (nee Southern).

Lovingly known as “Red” to her husband, Dalbert, of 70 years; beloved Mother to Evelyn (late Edward), Cecelia, Allan (†), Dawn (†) (late Benjamin), Delores (Robert) and Darlene (late Perry); cherished Grandmother to Michelle, Paul, Carrie, Laura, Amanda, Steven, Melanie, Rebecca, Patrick, Kimberly, Trevor, Tyler, and Andrew; and treasured GG to 20 Great Grandchildren.

Mary was a lifelong volunteer with the ladies auxillary and member of the Stittsville Legion, Branch 618. 

Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, between Bayshore and Baseline Road on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 6 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 7 p.m.  The service will be live streamed, and the link will be available on Mary’s tribute page at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to CHEO.
