It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Louise Boone on April 15, 2026, at the age of 81.
Marilyn passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving daughters, Sherri and Tanya after a courageous journey through declining health. In a moment that felt both heartbreaking and meaningful, she left us exactly four years to the day after the passing of her beloved husband, Harvey.
Marilyn spent over 38 years in British Columbia with Harvey, building a life together and creating many lasting memories.
She was a loving mother to Sherri (Jack) and Tanya (Nick), a proud grandmother to Drew, Landon, Aidan, Matthew, Kate and Ben and a cherished great grandmother to Crew, Brooklyn and Kayce. She was a woman of great strength and resilience, with a deep love for her family. Her roots in Newfoundland, remained an important part of who she was, forging a woman of resilience, determination and quiet strength.
Predeceased by her sister Greta, she will be dearly missed by her sisters Rosalind (Rob) and Loretta (Danny) and her brother Max (Irene) as well as by her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and for the love she had for her daughters and family. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
In her final days, Marilyn was surrounded by compassion and care, and her family takes comfort in knowing she was not alone. A special moment of grace came when a visiting priest from Newfoundland offered prayers and a blessing, bringing a sense of peace and connection in her final hours. She took her last breath with her girls by her side, holding her hand - a moment for which we will be eternally grateful.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical and palliative care teams who supported Mom with dignity and compassion.
A private family service will be held.
Donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Bruyere Health Foundation - Palliative Care.
Reunited with her beloved husband,
Harvey Boone
