Margaret “Peggie” Clara Stewart, 86, of Carleton Place, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 27, 2023.
Born on March 10, 1937, she was the only daughter of Edith and Blair Thibodeau.
Married to the love of her life for forty-four years, Peggie precedes her husband Allen Stewart, 93. Throughout much of their marriage they were heavily involved with Kiwanis International, travelling around Canada and the Caribbean. For many years they co-owned and operated a successful business, Plastics of Ottawa. Allen and Peggie wintered in their Florida home during retirement.

Peggie will also be dearly missed by her cherished friend Jodi McFarlane of Carleton Place, and life-long friend Patricia M. Garrett “Aunt Patti”, who attended Fisher Park High School with her from 1950-55.
Peggie is remembered for her volunteer work at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Almonte. Her many talents included gardening, baking, canning, sewing, and multiple art forms. Peggie enjoyed spending time with nature and had access to many of her family’s locations; Storie Farm Arnprior, Johnston Lake Quebec, Sugarloaf Maine, Colorado and Mutton Bay Quebec.

Funeral Services and Internment will be held on October 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Capital Memorial Gardens: 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Nepean, Ontario
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorials and/or Donations be made to The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation OR The Canadian Alzheimer’s Society of Ottawa.
