Margaret Murphy

October 5, 1934 — July 8, 2013

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce that Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 8th, 2013 at the age of 79. Maggie fought a mighty and courageous battle with cancer over the past few months. Daughter of late Thomas McGovern and Violet Osmun, loving wife of the late Gerald Murphy, predeceased by her son Michael and brothers Hughie ( Louise Malette) and Arnie. She is survived by her children Tim ( Laurie) and Shelley ( Étiennne), grandchildren Kennedy,Liam and Siobhan Murphy and their mother Carole of Riverview N.B ., Carson (Maryse), Amanda, Summer and Samantha Graveley of Cornwall,On., her sister Rita Savoie ( Marc ) . Maggie leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as well as supportive brothers and sisters -in -law. Maggie worked in the insurance field for most of her career with such firms as Renauld Sénécal, Andrew Hamilton, Sutton Perry and Encon. Special thanks to the staff at Amica at Bearbrook and the kind and nurturing PSW’s from At Home Hospice and We Care. Tim and Shelley would like to express their deep gratitude to Jeff Campbell and Collen Donahue, Brian and Mary Murphy and Marc and Rita Savoie for all the love and support that they have given Maggie over the past number of years. Your presence in Maggie’s life brought her great joy and us great comfort knowing that you were nearby and always ready and willing to be there for her.

The funeral service will be held at St Columban’s Church at 311 St-Columban st., Gatineau at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 13th, 2013. Christian burial at St Columban’s to follow. The family will be available at church a half hour prior to the service for those wishing to offer condolences. The family also invites those who wish to attend to the reception at the Royal Canadian Legion located at 231 Maloney blvd, Gatineau.
