Honouring The Life Of
HALL, Marguerite Thérèse (née Hamel)
Marguerite Thérèse Hall (née Hamel) resident of Fairview Manor at Almonte Regional Hospital passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 1st, 2023. At the age of 96, a witness to history she lived a full life leaving an impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to meet her.
Born February 3rd,1927 in her family home in Greenfield Park, QC. She was the first born of three daughters. She married the late Kenneth Hall in September 1949, and later moved to Otterburn Park, QC to raise their family of four. They lived there for just shy of 50 years before moving to Woodlawn, ON. Marg was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and aunt who will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her four children Sharon (Vern) Beattie, Alan (Lynne Philipps) Hall, Joanne (Donald) Hanna and local Woodlawn resident Laurie Hall (Jamie Benson). Blessed with seven grandchildren Micheal (Megan Penny) and Jessica Beattie, Megan and Geoffrey Hanna, Rachel Philipps-Hall, Gage and Reid Wensley and two great-grand kids Kenya and Savannah Tyler. Mrs. Hall was an active part of the community volunteering for the Otterburn Athletic Association. For 30 plus years she was a devoted volunteer librarian and lunch monitor at Mountainview Elementary School. Her efforts were so appreciated that they named the library in her honour. She loved gardening and was a talented baker who would conjure up the most delicious sweets. She loved to dance, owning the dance floor with a Jitterbug, and in her later years she’d always be tapping her feet to the rhythm. She endured many years with nearly debilitating arthritis, but she always managed to power through with a smile.
Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Fairview Manor at Almonte Regional Hospital for their compassionate care throughout her stay. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Fairview Manor in Almonte, the Arthritis Society of Canada, or her favourite charity the Heart and Stroke Foundation can be made in her name.
