Lise Kemp May, age 53, of Stittsville, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 9, 1973, in Peterborough, she was the cherished daughter of the late Carolyn and Paul Kemp.
Lise lived her life with a fierce grace that touched everyone she met. For 12 years, she was the devoted wife and soulmate to Aaron. Together, they built a life defined by laughter & travel adventures.
As a mother, Lise was devoted to her daughter, Sara. She poured her heart into raising her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness & resilience that will live on forever.
She is survived by her loving husband, Aaron; her daughter, Sara; stepmother, Heather; in-laws Tina & David; her brother, Dave (Shawna); and sister-in-law, Morgan. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews.
Lise was a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a degree in Recreation and Indiana University with a Master’s in Recreation Therapy and spent her career working with the elderly in a care and recreation capacity.
Lise found her greatest joy in building Lego sets, reading, and being a mother to Sara. She was an avid Disney and Star Wars fan, a love which she shared with her family. She had a unique gift for always being able to pick up wherever she left off with you, no matter how many days, weeks, or years it had been since you had been together. Though her time with us was far too short, the depth of her love created a ripple effect that will be felt for generations.
Visitation will be held at the Tubman Funeral Homes – Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
