Leda Thompson (née LeBlanc) was a sister, mother, wife and much loved nanny. She was a traveller, an incredible gardener and a passionate lover of music. She laughed often and was happiest surrounded by friends and family, especially if music was involved. Leda was a proud Canadian of Acadian and Loyalist stock. She also loved her tropical second homelands, St. Lucia and Costa Rica.
Leda is pre-deceased by her daughter Cathy and her devoted husband Ray. She never recovered from losing them. She is also pre-deceased by her sisters Audrey and Lois who helped raised her, and her brothers Charlie and Frank. Her family takes solace knowing that she is back in the loving embrace of her family and her Lord.
She leaves behind her daughter Paula (John) and her grandchildren Zoya and Maksim, and her son Richard (Dale) and his children Angie, Erin, Bill and Frank. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Ontario and BC, and dear friends in Ottawa and around the world.
Thanks to the staff at Perley Health Centre for caring for her so well these past years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shepherd’s of Good Hope.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday July 13 at St. Faustina’s Church in Cumberland at 11:00. St. Faustina Parish: 2571 Hwy. 174. There will be a gathering at the church afterwards.
