Laurie "Sam" Ebben Beckwith

March 5, 1935 — May 8, 2025

Born in Lockhartville, NS on March 5, 1935. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Laurie (retired Master Warrant Officer) proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 30 years. His service brought him to many places in Canada and to places as far as Egypt.

His latter years were spent between Kingston, Ottawa and his beloved cottage at Silver Lake Wesleyan Camp in Maberly, Ontario.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley (Elliott); his daughter Susan and grandchildren Nicholas Lalumiere (Anna Smith) and Jessyca Lalumiere (Michael Hickey) and daughter in-law Cheryl Beckwith. As well as his two sisters, Blanche MacKenzie and Beatrice Maitland and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Wayne (2019).With respect to Laurie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and his remains will be taken home to Nova Scotia.
