Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, August 11, 2016, age 71 years. Dearly loved husband of 50 years to Marian (Kavanagh). Proud and much loved father of Irwin (Bev) and Theresa. Proud and special grandfather to Cayle and Chad (Brianna). Loving brother of Helen Cassidy (late Harold), Harold, Alice Publicover (J.C.), Eric (Eleanor), Edna McKay (Lloyd), Sheila Coulter, Kathleen Warren (Dorald) and Hannah D'Angelo (late Vince). Brother-in-law of Bryan and Marilyn Brown and Debi Kavanagh (late Kevin). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Irene Kirkham; brothers Irwin, Arthur, Melville; and sisters Dorothy Smith and Lois Murfitt. Special thanks to doctors Hasimja and Parmar and the exceptional staff of nurses at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus who went above and beyond. Friends may attend a visitation at St Paul's United Church, 3452 McBean St., Richmond on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment Munster Union Cemetery followed by a reception at Richmond Legion. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
