Pesola, Katherine Jean

Kay Pesola, died peacefully at 90, on December 31,2021, at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital.  She was surrounded by her children, Karen and Bev, as well as grandchildren Andrea, Lisa, Genevieve, Matthew and Rebecca.

A miner’s daughter, she was proud to have been born at Kirkland Lake, Ontario.  Before marrying and having children she worked in administration for various mining companies in northern Ontario. She enjoyed playing baseball as a young woman and upon marrying supported her husband in his career at Ontario Hydro, while raising her two girls. Latterly, her fondest remembrances were the times spent together on Papineau Lake with dogs and Grandchildren .Kay was predeceased by her husband Taisto and many others, as she is the last of her generation.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in her honour at the Church of St. Columba, Ottawa on Saturday January 8th at 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID restrictions, Kay’s service is being recorded and can be viewed on her tribute page on the Tubman Funeral Home Website on Sunday, January 9, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donations in Kay’s memory to Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice or the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
