Karen Payne (née Boyd)

Peacefully at her home on Monday, February 2, 2026 in her 80th year. Karen was the devoted and beloved wife of Lawrence Payne for 57 wonderful years, and a deeply loving mother to Ian, David, and Jill. She was a proud and cherished grandmother who adored her grandchildren Kelsey, Destin, and Dylan, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Karen will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Florence (McCord) Boyd, and by her brother, Barry Boyd.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Saint Elisabeth Health care Palliative Care team for their compassion, dedication, and support during Karen’s final days.

Family and friends may attend a visitation at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars on Thursday, February 12th from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13th, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or C.H.E.O would be appreciated.
