JOHNSON, Karen Ann - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Johnson, with family by her side, on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 58, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved wife to her husband of 30 years, Kerry Johnson. Lovingly remembered by her children Ryan and Jessica. Daughter of the late Michael and Shirley Gurash. Cherished sister to Doug Gurash and sister-in-law Shelly Gurash.

In her professional life, Karen received a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University. She owned an accounting firm where she was admired by her clients and employees alike.

Karen was a loving mother and wife. She loved travelling, golfing, curling, camping and cuddling with her pets. She had a fun-loving spirit, always wore a smile and deeply enjoyed being among her many friends.

Karen will be remembered for her infectious smile and laugh, her feistiness in sports and business alike and for her selfless devotion to her family.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at the Ottawa General Hospital Cancer Centre and the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital for the care provided to Karen.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa, Ontario on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
