Judy (nee Stephenson) passed peacefully at the age of 81, surrounded by family at her retirement home, Hazeldean Gardens in Stittsville after a courageous battle against Parkinson’s Disease.
Loving wife of Rod (late), much adored mother of Kathy (Jalal Adeli), Andy (Michelle Hodgson), and Susan (John Smith). Proud Grandmother of Samantha, Kevin, Avery, Meredith, Emma, and Sarah.
Raised in Pickanock, Quebec, to the late J.D. and Elsie Stephenson (nee Chamberlain). In 1968, she moved to Stittsville where she and Rod built their family home.
Educated at Carleton University in Ottawa, Judy became an Elementary school teacher. Later in life after focusing on raising her children, Judy began teaching English as a second language.
Judy was actively involved in her Church, the Stittsville community, and loved volunteering at numerous activities for her children. She cared deeply about her family, friends, and supporting refugees. Judy’s passions included her cottage, skiing, and gardening.
A Celebration of Judy’s life will be held at Tubman Funeral Home Carp Chapel, 115 Rivington Street, Carp, on Friday June 6th 2025 at 11:00am. Following the service, guests are invited to join the family for visiting and refreshments. For those wishing to attend the service virtually, please register for the livestream using the link below.
