John passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on March 26, 2022 at the age of 88. He will be profoundly missed by his wife Madeleine (Quintal). They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on September 1, 2022. He leaves his beloved daughter, Laura (Geoffrey Higgins) and treasured grandchildren, Emma and Thomas Higgins. As well, he will be missed by his daughter-in-law, Rosana Bianchini (wife of John's only son and best friend Andrew, deceased April 2, 2020) and proud Grampa to their daughter, Louise Walker. He also leaves his sister, Barbara (Allan Woodruff, deceased July 1, 2021). John was predeceased by his parents Thomas and May Walker and his sister Nancy (Ted Staffen).

John was happy puttering around the house or at the cottage on Bob's Lake but equally enjoyed the many cruises to the Caribbean and the Mediterranean with our friends.

As per John's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
