SHACKLETON, John Foster - January 7, 1934 - April 16, 2023.

Predeceased by his best friend and loving wife of 63 years, Hester Shackleton (nee Bond) and his son David Shackleton.  Proud father to Patricia Brûlé (Marc), David Shackleton (Lyne), Jack Shackleton (Liz) and Peggy Rankin (Douglas).

Loving Papa to his nine grandchildren, Jillian, Kelly, Jennifer (Bernie), Kyle, Thomas (Carissa), Donald (Shannon), Chris (Negin), Hannah and Alex (Naomi).

Delighted to be Old Papa to his great-granddaughters Mabel, Eleanor, Iris, Olive and Nora.

John enjoyed his 32 year career at Agriculture Canada where he worked as a technician in the Animal Pathology labs with the Health of Animal Division.

John was well known in the community of Carp.  He enjoyed anything related to local history and served for many years as an executive of Huntley Historical Society.

A quiet and true friend to many.

A visitation will be held on Monday April 24th, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm at the Tubman Funeral Homes Carp Chapel, 115 Rivington Street, Carp. A private family burial will take place at Huntley United Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Love 4 Reesie Foundation would be appreciated, or to the charity of your choice in John’s memory.
