John Vincent Murphy

We regret to announce that John Vincent Murphy passed away at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 93.

Loving husband of Noreen (Gibbs) and much loved father of Stephen Murphy (Melonie Sibbitt). Son of the late Michael and Arbena (Foley) Murphy. Brother of the late Frank Murphy (Doreen), the late Mary Cooney (late Don), the late Leona Watters (the late Lorne), the late Theresa Read (Allan), Bridget Perreault (late Roger), Carmel Read (Ed), the late Joan Fraser (late Ian), Rose Campbell (late Michael), Helen Kennedy (Bryan), the late Audrey Killeen (Carl), and the late Jim Murphy. Brother in law of the late Beatrice McEvoy (late Vincent), the late Michael Gibbs (Pauline), the late Kathleen Robillard (Leo), Timothy Gibbs (Connie), Peter Gibbs (Sharon), David Gibbs (Susan). Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Vince had a calm and quiet strength. He enjoyed nature, gardening, working with wood, cheering on the Ottawa Senators and the Redblacks football team. Vince also found pleasure in travel and seeing new places.

A memorial service will be held at St. Isidore (1135 March Rd, Kanata, ON K2K 1X7) on Tuesday August 26, 2025 at 11am, family will be receiving condolences starting at 10am. Reception to follow.
