John Wesley Londry

December 28, 1945 — July 28, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Wesley Londry on July 28, 2025, at the Ottawa General Hospital, after facing complications from cancer with strength and grace.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, and raised primarily in Comber and Noranda, John lived a life full of adventure, curiosity, and love. He was an exploration geologist by profession, but more than that, it was his passion. His work took him across the Americas, where he built not only a remarkable career but also lasting friendships and memories.

John is survived by his beloved wife and travel companion, Mary Londry (née Patton), and their children: Shane Londry (Wendy), Tyson Londry (Jen), and Megan Farnel (Morgan). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Briana Martin (Ross and their son Theo), Jake, Paige, Haley, Alex, and Ben. He also leaves behind his siblings Beth Simard, Roy Londry (Anne) and Doug Londry (Bev) along with many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of John’s Life and Legacy will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, or Hospice Care Ottawa. While John did not have the opportunity to receive hospice care, our family deeply values the comfort and dignity these services provide to others in their final days.

John will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of travel, and his unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
